Exfoliate

Exfoliation is an integral part of skin care. The shedding of dead skin cells and the formation of the new ones is a constant process. A healthy skin renews itself totally in about 28 days.

The shedding of dead cells encourages the worth of new ones. With age the process of self renewal slows down. This leads to a build up of dead cells on the outer layer.

The skin acquires a dull tone, the texture becomes rough and the skin's capacity of absorb products becomes less. Cellular built-up on the outer layer can also occur due to various other reasons.

Removal of the dead epithelial cells helps to accelerate the production of new cells. The process of removal of the dead outer cells is known as exfoliation.

Exfoliators or skin sloughers, are speedy skin improver's. By removing the dead cells from the surface of the skin, face 'scrubs' make your skin smoother and brighter in seconds. They also help skin that is prone to spots. stay clearer and increase the cell turnover-so the skin looks younger for longer.

It is important to choose a product that is very gentle so that the dermis do not scratch the skin.

Tips for using an exfoliator
.. Use a facial scrub on cleansed, damp skin.

.. Rest your thumb against your skin (this ensures that you don't use the full power of your arm) and use very light, circular movements.

.. Never rub your skin until it changes color and do not use exfoliators near your eyes.

.. If your skin is fair, sensitive or very fine, use a gentler peel-off mask, instead of a facial scrub to lift away dead cells and revitalize your complexion.

.. Exfoliation is very useful for black skin, which can look ashen in color, but a peel-off mask is better than a face scrub, as black skin is vulnerable to changes in pigmentation and face scrubs can trigger this, if too abrasive.

.. Although facial scrubs help prevent your skin breaking out in spots, do not use them if your skin is already inflamed or infected, as you may spread the infection. This is true for the body, too.

Many products and treatments are available for regular exfoliation.

Natural ingredients like walnut, Aloe Vera and lemon has been combined to exfoliate the skin and cleanse it. It helps to cleanse the skin of dead epithelial cells leaving it brighter and renewed. Like grains, it is to be rubbed gently on the face, neck, or any other part of the body. Leave it for 10 minutes and wash it off with water.

Dermal & Soft-Tissue Fillers for Facial Rejuvenation

This section contains information on dermal and soft-tissue fillers for cosmetic facial rejuvenation. They are often called wrinkle fillers, which is less accurate but more concise. Wrinkle fillers are used primarily to correct localized facial defects, such as lines, furrows, folds, pitted scars, skin depressions due to fat loss, and the like.

Most wrinkles fillers are administered via injection, although a few require a small incision. In some cases, wrinkle fillers are the only minimally invasive way to correct certain types of defects, such as deep folds and furrows, depressed scars or the areas of subcutaneous fat loss.

However, small defects, such as fine lines or mild-to-moderate wrinkles should be treated by topical agents before treatments like fillers or lasers are considered. For motion wrinkles (lines caused by facial movements), the optimal tactics in many cases is to try Botox first.

In fact, even if Botox has failed, it may still be a good adjunct to a filler because simply injecting a filler does not eliminate the cause of a motion wrinkle.

Even though a few wrinkle fillers have been in use for decades, the majority are relatively new and their long-term effects are unknown.

This is partly mitigated by the fact that manufacturers often try to develop new fillers based on human or animal tissue, natural biopolymers, or synthetic polymers with a history of other medical uses. Still, no wrinkle filler is ideal; each has a unique profile of effectiveness, durability, biocompatibility, side effects, costs, risks and uncertainties.

The trick is to determine if a filler is an optimal solution in your particular case, and, if so, which one is likely to be the best fit. Try to learn as much as you can first - you can start with the articles below. The "let's learn by trying" attitude may works for topical, but tends to backfire for more invasive and costly treatments.

Murad Environmental Aging

Since I began practicing medicine in 1972, I have been studying the ability of antioxidants to repair and protect the skin. Witnessing first hand the effects of sun exposure, pollution, smoking, alcohol and stress on my patients’ skin led me to study the role of antioxidants in environmental aging.

The difference between the aging of a sequestered monk and that of a farm worker the same age was not only visibly astounding, it also supported my belief that while biological aging is inevitable, environmental aging is widely preventable.

Antioxidants have made their way front and center into the eye and mind of the consumer. These miracle cell protectors represent the front line of defense in the war against environmental aging.

As the professional skincare industry continues to explore the role of antioxidants, we are entering an exciting time to both educate, protect, and deliver our clients and patients advanced products to address a wide range of skincare concerns and slow the effects of environmental aging.

Avada Adjusting your skin care to fit your age

Adjusting your skin care to fit your age

The age of your skin should be judged based on biological factors rather than simply your date of birth. Biological and chronological age rarely very far apart but they are not the same. The rate of aging varies among people due to genetic and lifestyle differences.

The variation in the rate of skin aging is particularly high (compared to other tissues) because the skin is more exposed to the environment. When optimizing your skin care, you can use your chronological age as a starting point but you should also take into account biological factors that may have affected your rate of aging.

For example, if you are in your twenties but your skin has suffered a lot of sun damage, you may benefit from the anti-wrinkle treatments (e.g. tretinoin a.k.a. Retin A) that are otherwise best used later in life. If you are undergoing early menopause in your late thirties, you might benefit from topical estrogens and/or progesterone even though such treatment are typically contemplated in late forties.

facial skin rash

Facial rashes often cause diagnostic confusion but a close examination of the clinical signs should help differentiate the underlying cause. All facial rashes, by virtue of their visibility, can cause significant distress to the patient and this should never be underestimated.

The location, appearance and color of a rash will help your doctor make the diagnosis. Skin rashes come in all forms and sizes. Some are raised bumps; others are flat red blotches. Some are itchy blisters; other are patches of rough skin. Most rashes are harmless and clear up on their own within a few days.

A few may need medical attention. The skin is one of the first areas of the body to react when exposed to something you or your child is allergic to.

Skin rashes causes redness or inflammation; Skin lesion; Rubor; Skin rash; Erythema which changes the color or texture of your skin. Often, the cause of a rash can be determined from its visible characteristics and other symptoms.

Seborrheic dermatitis is a rash that appears in patches of redness and scaling around the eyebrows, eyelids, mouth, nose, the trunk, and behind the ears. If it happens on your scalp, it is called dandruff in adults and cradle cap in infants.

Self-Care Tips for Treat Heat Rash:
